Description
Roy Ayers est un compositeur et vibraphoniste de funk, de soul et de jazz. Il a débuté sa carrière comme artiste de jazz post-bop, enregistrant plusieurs albums chez Atlantic Records, avant de rejoindre Polydor Records à partir des années 1970, période durant laquelle il a contribué à l’émergence du jazz-funk. Figure incontournable du mouvement acid jazz, mélange de jazz, de hip-hop et de funk, il a été surnommé par beaucoup « le parrain de la néo-soul ».
