Troubadour est le quatrième album de JJ Cale, sorti en 1976. Eric Clapton a repris la chanson « Cocaine » sur son album Slowhand en 1977, en en faisant l’un de ses plus grands succès.
Clapton a ensuite repris le titre « Travelin’ Light » pour son album studio Reptile de 2001.
« Travelin’ Light » a également été enregistrée par Widespread Panic pour leur album Space Wrangler en 1988.
Le producteur Audie Ashworth a introduit quelques instruments différents pour modifier légèrement le son de Troubadour.
Mais l’album conserve le style introspectif typique de J.J. Cale que nous aimons tant !
